Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

You're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews, because they're not interviews from a journalist. So, there's a real press issue here. Politically it's smart as can be. But we've not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before."

You can realize how serious the allegation is. The Obama camp has to answer the veracity.

The American idol is an ass to be putting on airs like he's president, campaigning overseas on his so-called fact-finding "mission." What a scam. kd, watch and you'll see him using his canned footage in upcoming TV commercials.

Hmm, Seems to me, what you guys are implying is that the military wants Obama to be the next president.

Because otherwise why would they give him an 'exclusive'?(my wording) And why would the military play up the troops positive reaction to seeing him? Seems kindv'e like a good question to ask yourself.

No, he was just on a military base with military personnel and they don't usually allow non-military persons (reporters) in sensitive areas. The military doesn't play 'favorite's' with the commander-in-chief's party's opposition. Think about it.

Andrea is just whining about not getting to question him about trivial non-issues herself.

Besides since when is it that its OK to 'manage the media' for some people(Bush and McCain), but not OK for another person? Seems like a double standard to me.

Let's see, censored footage and staged interviews from "embedded reporters" spewing out from Iraq every day for five years is considered "real news" while pool report footage of Obama's meeting with the troops is "fake interviews".

Of course they don't want to point to the REAL warm reception that Obama got from GIs.

Or the FAKE NEWS spread by the McCain campaign through Robert Novak that they were planning to announce his VP choice this week.

Sometimes Newsvine does nothing but repeat the stupidity of mainstream media. I am beginning to dislike it more and more.

Andrea Mitchell and others who are complaining about 'lack of access' to Obama sound like 'sour grapes' to me. They are not being given their usual opportunity to spin things to benefit McSame and ask their irrelevant ('professional') questions. They don't seem to 'get it' - this trip isn't about THEM. While McSame can stroll through a market in Baghdad looking at merchandise and buying a little rug for the camera, and it gets all kinds of praise - this so-called 'liberal media' fails to mention that it is all staged - access to the market is severely controlled, attack helicopters and dozens of heavily armed soldiers and bodyguards are everywhere but instead they tell the public how 'safe' it now is and what a great 'success' it all has been. Obama talks to the 'grunts', listens and watches what is going on, and answers questions from all quarters and they call it 'fake interviews'! Give me a break!
